Our National Ideology of Pakistan Speech
Honourable President, my dear teachers, guests and students Assalam-o-Alaikum.
It is claimed that Pakistan is an ideological State or that it is founded on Islam. But most folks , especially the young men, don’t fully understand the principles and objects which lie behind this claim. In the minds of a large number of young Pakistanis, there exists only a vague notion of what their elders mean by the ideology of Pakistan. There are three principles of our national ideology.
The first principle of the ideology of Pakistan is that for Pakistanis islam is their ‘nationalism’ also as “patriotism”. The people of Pakistan come from different races. They speak different languages, they sleep in geographical territories which aren’t contiguous. The foundations of this state, therefore, couldn’t be laid on race, language and territory. The real factor that is common is Islam. The Quaid-e-Azam said: “Whatever you are wherever you’ll be and whatsoever, you’re a Muslim. You belong to a state now, you’ve got now won out a state, it’s all yours, it doesn’t belong to a Punjabi, Sindhi, Pathan, or a Bengali, it’s yours.” Hence the idea of nationhood in Pakistan is Islam. We do not believe in idolatrous patriotism. We don’t believe worshiping the geographical features of a state called Pakistan. But we are able to lay down our lives for the principles of Islam. Hence Islam is our “patriotism”.
The second principle of the ideology of Pakistan is that for Pakistanis lslam is their “secularism” and “Constitutionalism”. Pakistan is not a “theocratic” State because Islam is essentially a polity. The Quaid-e-Azam explained this point when he proclaimed. “Make no mistake: Pakistan isn’t a theocracy or anything similar to it . Islam demands from us the tolerance of other creeds.” Again he said: “You are liberal to attend your mosques or to the other place of worship during this state of Pakistan”. Then Islam is 3D in, a body of principles which are for universal application. As told by our Great Leader: “Brotherhood, equality and fraternity of a man, these are all the most important points of our religion, culture and civilization. And we fought for Pakistan because there was a danger or denial of these human rights in this subcontinent.
The third law of the ideology of Pakistan is that Islam is Socialism for Pakistanis. Islam has its own economic system. The object of Islam Is to determine a balanced economic order. It ensures that no individual (an exploit another. It rejects both capitalism and socialism as two extremist viewpoints; The .Quaid-e-Azam proclaimed on 1st July, 1948: “We must compute our destiny in our own way and present to the planet , an financial system supported true Islamic concepts of equality of man and social justice ” the thing of the economic teachings of Quran is twofold, to provide facilities for the have-nots so that they could achieve the living standard of the middle class and to impose restrictions on the haves so that they may not step beyond the middle class.
